KINGSTON PLUNGE DETAILS


DATE:          Sunday, February 7, 2016    

LOCATION: Plunge at Confederation Basin Marina- 6 Clarence St., Kingston
                     Registration at Confederation Place Hotel- 237 Ontario St. 

SCHEDULE: Registration from 9 am to 10:30 am
                      Plunge at 11:00 am
                      Awards presentations at 12:00 pm

REGISTRATION: $100 OR $150 in Pledges to waive the fee
*Registration comes with a free Polar Plunge Beach Towel!
                                     
This event is co-hosted by the Kingston Police Force and the OPP

Throw away your winter jacket and throw on your bathing suit, uniform or costume. It is time to take the Kingston 2016 Plunge!

In partnership with the OLETR (Ontario Law Enforcement Torch Run), the Kingston Police Force and the OPP will be co-hosting the 5th Annual Kingston Polar Plunge at Confederation Basin Marina to raise awareness along with money for the athletes and families of Special Olympics Ontario. This non-profit organization helps provide quality sports and training programs for children, youth and adults with an intellectual disability that are only possible through the generous donations that are raised at events such as the Polar Plunge.

Plunge Details:

Pre-Registered Individual Plungers - When you arrive at the Plunge, please head to the Registration area located at the Confederation Place Hotel, 237 Ontario St.  Please enter the registration area by the outside stairway located at the rear of the hotel. As you check in, additional donations will be accepted and added to your fundraising total. 

Same-Day Registration  Just complete a registration form; bring your registration fee (A minimum of $100 registration fee or $150 in pledges) is required to participate in the Plunge and head to the Registration Area located in the Atrium at the Confederation Place Hotel. Walk-ups are welcome!  Extra forms will be available on-site.

Changing Facilities  Men’s and Women’s changing facilities are available on-site. There will be NO showers available. We suggest that you leave valuable items at home, or with a family member/friend while you take the Plunge.

     - Wear your swimsuit under your clothes so you’ll be ready for the Plunge fun.
- 
Bring along easy to slip-into warm clothes and shoes for after the Plunge.
- For your safety, no diving or running off the dock into the water.
- 
Bring a plastic bag for wet clothes, and a waterproof backpack or bag to store         your dry clothes.
- 
Remember to pack a towel and water shoes, if you have them.
- 
This is a Family Event – Have Fun 

Spectators  Come out and cheer on the plungers!  Don’t forget your camera.

Its PLUNGE TIME at 11:00 AM - The Polar Plunge organizer will collect the Plunger Card for each Plunge Team or individual Plunger.  Volunteers will be on hand to take your nice, cozy warm cover-ups and your team will take their place at the starting point. The emcee will announce your team and 1, 2, 3....go!  Each team will jump together into water that is approximately 3 meters deep!  Maximum of 4 plungers to enter the water per Plunge
