Jumpers take the plunge for a good cause
Published: March 4, 2017 by Jennifer Hamilton-McCharles
About 70 jumpers braved the frigid elements this afternoon during the Polar Bear Plunge for Special Olympics at the North Bay Waterfront.
One after another men, women and teens jumped in Lake Nipissing to show their support for a good cause.
Brady Tuohimaa, an employee with the North Bay and District Jail, said it was so cold when he tried to get out of the water he could barely grab ahold of the ladder.
“My body was numb,” he said. “Waiting for your turn to jump is the worst. My feet were freezing, but I would do it again, it’s for a good cause.”
