Polar Plunge Blows Past Goal

Published: March 10, 2017 by Bayshore News Staff

The first annual Polar Plunge in West Grey raised five times its fundraising goal.

West Grey Police are hosting their first annual Special Olympics Polar Plunge.

Their goal is to raise one thousand dollars for Special Olympics, through registration fees.

About 15 brave souls lined up for the icy dunk into a pool firefighters use for battling remote fires.

They blew past their one $1,000 and raised $5,000.

Cheered on by kids from St. Peters and St. Paul’s Catholic School, West Grey Mayor Kevin Eccles, Bayshore Broadcasting Reporter Robyn Garvey, Fire Chief Phil Schwartz, and West Grey Police made the icy plunge.
